AN/Warnings: Response to weekly drabble challenge #26 at [livejournal.com profile] doctor_donna. Prompt was 'claustrophobia'. (and it's very well hidden too!)

"Can you feel that?" he asked, "Something's coming."

"Like what?"

As she asked this, they both felt the ground shake beneath them. They could see the tall buildings in front of them wave about.

"Unusual," he muttered, "Stropia VII isn't usually prone to earthquakes. Except for..."

Suddenly, he grabbed her hand and started to run further into the city.

The TARDIS quickly came into sight and they darted inside, leaving Donna gasping for breath.

"Right! Spaceman, what was that about? A little earthquake and we're running for the hills?"

"Oh Donna! I'm so thick! It's 2782A8! This is the year that their civilization collapses! Right back into the dark ages."

"Pray to the gods! Ye heathens have brought this tremor upon us! Pray for your salvation!" a disheveled looking woman shouted as she walked past outside.

He rushed to the controls. "We can't be here. We can't interfere with this."

"Oi!" she said, "Why not?"

"Because, this is a very important part of their history. Without this fall, they won't be able to recover and become one of the most advanced planets in this sector."

"I still don't like it."

"As lovely as this place is now, it becomes so much more. How about we jump ahead 500 years and take a look?"

I like it! Simple, straight to the point, and yet, there's an air of inticing adventure or soon to be agrument between the companions as if one could imagine there's more to come.

Nicely done! ;)

Interesting. I would perhaps have liked the prompt to be more obvious, but the idea is fascinating.

I like it. You caught their voices really well. Though I'll freely admit that I didn't find the prompt...
